The U.S. WINE MARKET PROJECTIONS AND TRENDS for 2010 by Philip S. Kampe

U.S. WINE MARKET PROJECTIONS for 2010
==================================
++The U.S. is expected to move from 3rd largest wine market to the single LARGEST Worldwide in 2010++

++IMPORTED WINES , which represent 27.3% of the total U.S. market, have recorded an impressive increase of 11 share points over the past 10 years++

++U.S. WINE CONSUMPTION had a per capita increase to 12.3 liters per person per year++

++The U.S. market is largely dominated by still wines ( 87.9% of U.S. wine comsumption) which increased +74% from 1990 to 2005. Better quality wine from all around the world, aggressive targeted marketing campaigns, and increasing consumer sophistication and interest in 'food and wine' seem to explain this upward trend. Champagne has progressively become less of an exclusive beverage, thus boosting sparkling wine sales++

++WHITE wine represents 44% of the total U.S. wine market++

++RED wine represents 42.8% of the total U.S. wine market++

++ROSE represent 12.6% of the total U.S. wine market++
