LA SOIREE des GRANDS CRUS "WOWS" 400 Guests with an Evening in BORDEAUX by Philip S. Kampe

As a wine journalist and a native New Orleanian, I feel like I have seen it all, WINE Party and Event wise. From jugglers and trapeze artists at a Beaujolais Celebration in Manhattan to the Patron Saint of the Winegrowers Festival in Chablis, complete with Medieval trumpeters and dancers.
Well, these wine events were upstaged at New York's, soon to be, LEGENDARY New Wine Event, " LA SOIREE des GRANDS CRUS".
The event brought together SEVENTEEN Young Bordeaux Chateau owners and their latest vintages. The backdrop was that of a true WINE CELLAR from Bourdeaux, complete with Wooden Barrels, Vintage wines and Winemakers.
A highlight of the evening was a BLIND Wine Tasting, led by Jean-Luc Le Du of, you guessed it, owner of LE DU Wines. Nine tasters competed for $28,000 worth of prizes, which included a $7690 BREITLING B01 CHRONOMAT Watch and eight Impressive wine lots from Bordeaux..
Food at these events is always a Highlight. Thanks to Bordeaux themed Chocolates from third generation Chocolatier and Patissier FRANCOIS PAYARD of FPBNY Fame and Fabulous Hors d'oeuvres surrounding Castello Blue Cheese, the evening was complete.
In the wine cellar, guests were treated to view the latest fashions from Hugo Boss.
Over a dozen Breitling watches were on display, including the Chronomat B01. For the world traveler, Open Skies sponsored a booth that highlighted a raffle for a rond-trip flight to Paris.
LA SOIREE des GRANDS CRUS highlight was sampling 'Classic Grand Cru Bordeaux's' from each of the Seventeen prsenting vineyards.
The wines awarded to the Blind Tasting Lucky Winners included Special Magnum and Dpoble Magnum Wines from the participating Bordeaux Chateau's.
The wines were divided into eight lots.
